I recently received an email about the remaining Schmidt Collection. I thought I would share it with you. I hope you were able to attend one of the auctions, because there will be no more!

When we decided more than a year ago to auction the entire Schmidt Collection of Coca-Cola® Memorabilia, we never dreamed the interest would be so strong. We are so thankful for how the Coca-Cola-collecting community embraced our decision to make our best pieces available to the public. It is with mixed emotions that I let you know that our recent September auction will be our last. Plans for a March 2013 auction have been cancelled.
The remaining collection has been sold, which brings to a close my family’s 40-year period of collecting and displaying some of the best advertising art Coca-Cola ever created. Thanks again for the interest you have shown in the Schmidt Collection, especially those who purchased items during the auctions or visited the museum during its many years of operation. Sincerely,

It was fun while it lasted. We attended them and had a great time visiting with our Coke collecting friends. Now the big question is – Who Bought It All?

I wish I could have went to at least one of the auctions, every time one came around something would always come up. I had planned on going in March 2013, but now don’t have to worry about it anymore. I know it wasn’t me that bought the rest of the collection! I wonder if we will hear who it was?
