Spring in Atlanta Brings…..

With spring arriving in Atlanta it brings along many things, lots of pollen, blooming azaleas, and crepe myrtles leaves coming out, dogwood trees blooming and of course the Coca-Cola Marketplace and Memorabilia Sale!

 This is one thing you DON”T want to miss! You’ll find a wide variety of Coca-Cola memorabilia at the Coca-Cola Marketplace to be held on Saturday, April 7th at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel in Dunwoody, Georgia (right across from Perimeter Mall, Exit 30 off I-285, address: 4355 Ashford Dunwoody Road. Atlanta, GA  30346). There will be 100 tables of Coke collectibles and other soda related items with prices ranging from 25 cents to $1,000. You don’t want to miss it! Hours are 10 AM until 1 PM. FREE entry and a FREE Coke collectible to each attendee.

Collections from Around the World

One great thing about my blog is that it sends me reports of visitors and where they are from. I had someone visit the blog that lives in Vanuatu. 

I had to look that place up, it is an island chain about 1000 miles off the coast of Australia. I couldn’t figure out why someone from Vanuatu would be looking at my blog, so I did a search on “Coca-Cola Vanuatu”.

  What came up surprised me! A man by the name of Ernest Kalkoa has a Coca-Cola Bottle and WWII Artifact Museum located at Havannah Harbor.

  I was able to see some photos of his amazing collection. You can read more about his museum here:

Then I came across a seven minute video of him giving a tour of his museum. It is a great video, you can see and feel the passion he has for his collection. It would be awesome to go see his collection, but I doubt if I ever will be able to. At least we have the video to show us. I was amazed that a 1915 Patent Date Coca-Cola bottle made it from here all the way to Vanuatu.

Spring is Almost Here

 Well, things are beginning to bloom here in the South already. And we have had some springtime weather with thunderstorms.  

  It is also a great time to head out to some bottle shows.  Athens Georgia Antique Bottle, Pottery, & Collectibles Sale & Show is  a new show. It will be on March 3rd. I was hoping to be able to go and check it out, but things have come up and can’t. Hopefully some of you can stop by and let me know how the show was. I wish the show sponsors much success with the show.

Another show that I have heard a great deal about is the Baltimore Antique Bottle Club 32nd Annual Antique Bottle Show & Sale, being held March 4th. I have seen photos of this show from past years and it looks like a GREAT show with plenty of vendors, usually over 300 tables!   Hopefully next year I can check it out.
