Sad News

October 28, 2011

I just heard that John ‘Digger’ Odell has passed away. He did a great deal for bottle collecting and wrote several great reference books. I met him at a bottle show a few years ago. I had a lot of questions for him at the show about publishing, etc. He took time to answer my questions and help me. A great guy.  A sad day for bottle collectors who knew John.  Here is a little info:

Some Bottle Hunting

October 13, 2011

This past weekend I was able to go to a flea market I hadn’t been to in a few years. It is about an hours drive from me. I went hoping to find a few items. I ended up finding several bottles.  I also collect products of the Coca-Cola Company and was able to find some 1 Liter bottles for Fresca, Sugar Free Sprite and Mr Pibb.

It was a great drive and ended up driving further north to see the leaves changing colors for the fall, grab a good meal and explore a small town. Now is the time of year for that kind of stuff, so get out there, enjoy this time of year and maybe do some bottle hunting for yourself.

Steve Penley Exhibit

October 5, 2011

I am sure you already know that this year marks the 125th Anniversary of that fizzy drink Coca-Cola.  In honor of this event, Steve Penley painted a 48 foot mural depicting the key moments of  Coca-Cola history over the past 125 years. It had been on display at The Coca-Cola Company Headquarters, but now can be seen until May 2012 at the World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta.   I hope you take some time to check out the mural.
