Schmidt Museum Closed

April 28, 2011

In an earlier post I spoke of the Schmidt Museum( https://cocacolabottleman.wordpress.com/2010/07/15/schmidt-coca-cola-memorabilia-museum/) in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.   I read the sad news that the museum has closed and will soon begin auctioning off its amazing collection.

I hate to see this place go.  I worked with the staff getting my book in the gift shop. They are a great bunch of people and wish them all well.

I will try to go to some of the auctions, although I don’t know if I will be able to afford many items.

Here is the news story:

A Virtual Tour Worth Taking!!

April 26, 2011

If you don’t follow the Coca-Cola Archives blog ( http://www.coca-colaconversations.com/my_weblog/    ), they posted about a new website  where you can take a virtual tour of the Archive area.  I got ‘lost’ on the bottle aisle and stayed for a long time looking around and trying my best to pick up a bottle or two!  This is a very interactive tour with the ability to look 360 degrees around at items in the Archives, zoom in and see details, etc.  This is the closest you will ever get to seeing this amazing basement of collectibles!

This is just the beginning of the 125th Celebration.

Some Coca-Cola 125th News

April 18, 2011

I recently went to the World of Coca-Cola museum website and it said that sometime in May the 125th Celebration will begin at the World of Coca-Cola.  It did not give much details on what the celebration will be like.

Also, I saw a limited edition Coca-Cola crystal bottle, marked with the 125th logo.  I am sure they will be available at the World of Coca-Cola gift shop.

I will pass on any other information I can come across about the 125h.

Still Searching….

April 7, 2011

Well, last weekend I tried to find Mello Yello Zero, went to three grocery stores, but to no avail. I have heard from a few of you who were able to find it in the western U.S.

That is one thing about living in Coca-Cola’s backyard, it is easy to find Coca-Cola collectibles, but when it comes to new products they always seem to release them somewhere else other than Georgia. Hopefully I will come across a Mello Yello Zero soon.

Speaking of Coca-Cola collectibles, with spring finally here, yard sales and flea markets will be gearing up. I want to hear from you, what have you found recently? Any good Coke stuff?
