Don’t Forget….

March 31, 2011

I had posted earlier this year that Mello Yello Zero is due out on April 2nd.   I hadn’t heard anything else about it.  I will be hanging out on the soft drink aisle on Saturday April 2nd waiting……  I thought I would have heard more about it, a little more fanfare, but nothing.

If you see Mello Yello Zero in your area, be sure and post something here on my blog!

A Book for the Coca-Cola 125th

March 28, 2011

Here is some information on a book that will be coming out for the Coca-Cola 125th year. Below is the information I found online.

 Coca-Cola

ISBN: 9782759405145

Hardcover / 9.5 x 12″
220 Pages, 125 Images

ASSOULINE Publishing

$65 (Or order a ‘Special Edition’ for $650)
For 125 years, Coca-Cola has connected with more people in more places than any other product the world has ever known. First sipped at an Atlanta soda fountain as a hot weather pick-me-up, Coca-Cola has triumphed by engaging people, one by one. The company’s long-time leader Robert Woodruff sought always to have it “within arm’s length of desire.” He succeeded so well that Coca-Cola has become a part of our landscape, part of our rituals, part of our lives. This illustrated book celebrates the world’s most iconic beverage with the brand’s photographs, advertisements, and designs as well as memories from film, social history, and pop culture. Decade by decade, Coca-Cola represents the zeitgeist with nostalgia and flair.

125 Years of Coca-Cola

March 25, 2011

Well, a few things are starting to pop up for the Coca-Cola 125th Anniversary.  I have seen a t-shirt and ball cap.  They are tying it in with the ‘Open Happiness’ promo they have been using the last few years.  The shirt has a Coca-Cola bottle on it; above the bottle it has ‘Open Happiness’ either side of the bottle is ‘125’ and ‘Years’, with Coca-Cola in the middle.   You may also start seeing this design on posters and signs in local stores.

Not a lot of items yet, but I think by the end of April, beginning of May we will see a lot of items.

If you see something for the 125th, be sure and post a comment here on the blog, tell us what it is and where you saw it!

Patiently Waiting…..Sort Of

March 17, 2011

Well, this is the 125th Anniversary of Coca-Cola.  I have been patiently waiting on items and information to come out.  I’ve searched the internet, but not much out there.

If you check on eBay, you will see a few items: cans and bottles from Puerto Rico, Thailand, England, Hong Kong and Egypt.  And of course the Monopoly game and Yahtzee game is available.

This article is two years old, but does give you some clues of the items that will be coming out.

I’ve also heard of a train set from Lionel that will be available.

I hope that more information will become available soon! I am anxious to see what all will be available. I know the Coca-Cola Company came out with some great things for the 100th Anniversary.

So for now I will have to keep my eyes and ears open. When I find out something, I will pass it along to all of you!

Nothing New…

March 17, 2011

In case you hadn’t noticed, I hadn’t been posting much lately. Writers block I guess….just can’t come up with a great topic.  I will continue to answer questions and I’ll keep working on a good topic to post soon!

Where Did February Go???

March 1, 2011

Wow- here it is March 1st already!  Where did February go?  I never even did a post all last month!  Well, I was busy with getting ready for two bottle shows, book sales picked up with several international sales, sick for a few weeks,  trying to work on my second book as well as work on the second edition of my first book!

I also learned of a fellow collector who had a stroke.  I am always trying to figure out ways to hang signs, etc. and come up with a unique way to display the item.  I would go to a local hardware store and Mike would help me figure out what I needed. Mike does not collect Coca-Cola items, but has a vast knife collection among other things.  He is always interested in my latest finds.   I hadn’t been to the store for over a month. I went recently and found out he had suffered a serious stroke.  Mike, take care and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
